State Team Tournament – Match vs. Par

TEAM TOURNAMENT - MATCH vs. PAR: This team event shall be played in June. Course handicaps from the day of play based on the tees utilized by each participant will be used. The twelve lowest net scores on this day shall comprise the team. The lowest eight net scores comprise the team with the other four scores being the alternates. The alternates’ scores will be used in the event of a tie, using first alternate, second alternate, etc., until the tie is broken. Match vs. Par is computed for each player on a hole-to-hole basis, strokes allowed where they fall. Thus, a player will either win (+1), push, or lose (-1) a hole and at the end of the round will have a score that is either up on par (+3 for example), even, or down to par (-2 for example). At the completion of the round, the totals for each of the 8 players are added together to determine a team score. The results shall be filled out and submitted on the Match vs. Par worksheet (available on the WSWGA website) not later than ten days from the date of play. The four alternates’ scores need not be sent but the trustee should be aware these might be needed in the event of a tie. A perpetual trophy with the names of the winning team shall remain in the possession of the winning club for one year.
